Best 20+ Affordable Eco Friendly Products on Etsy

I didn’t actually realise until a few months ago that Etsy offset the carbon from everything that gets delivered, which is really cool. I decided to compile a list of some eco friendly products on Etsy. I’ll definitely be looking to Etsy for eco friendly gifts in the future.

I’ll probably just add to this list as I go along because that seems the simplest way of doing things. I’ve mostly listed products I’ve found on Etsy UK but I will continue to add to the list when I find things from elsewhere in the world as well.

Most of what I’ve listed is under £10/$10 as I wanted to show that zero waste isn’t just for the privileged and a lot of them would make super eco friendly gifts for birthdays or other holidays.

Although, on my YouTube channel I’ll probably make it into more of a series. Etsy has so many amazing handmade products and shops that it would make too long a video to include everything in one.

Bird Feeder

This Willow Bird Feeder is so beautiful. I was recently given a willow storage basket and willow storage compartments and I just love how strong it is. Willow similarly to Bamboo grows really fast making it quite a sustainable material.

I think this Bird feeder is a really nice addition to the garden as it looks really cute. There were different styles and sizes on Etsy so do check out the link above if you like the look of this.

Bread Bag

This recycled Polyester Bread Bag is a brilliant idea. The last few years I’ve been making bread on and off with my bread maker. I always used old bread bags but I did think at the time that there has to be something better to store the bread in other than a bread bin of course. I’ve never found that bread bins keep the bread very fresh on their own, especially with homemade bread which doesn’t have the preservatives.

Bunting

I love Bunting as a decoration instead of the usual wasteful balloons etc, this bunting is extra special as well because it’s made in Uganda and the proceeds go to help the women who made the bunting in Uganda.

At home I have Christmas bunting and Happy birthday bunting as well. I really like bunting and it’s obviously a reusable product so you just bring it out every year and don’t need to buy decorations and balloons each time.

Cork Purse

This Cork Purse is really cute, I think this would make an amazing gift for someone. I really like the patterns on this one as well. They look really pretty and I think this would be a nice gift for the more eco conscious person.

Cork Wallet

The same applies to this Cork Wallet, I think this would make a brilliant gift for someone.

I love cork products, I think they’re strong and durable and they have a really nice texture as well. This wallet looks really well made also.

Dish Brush

I thought this Dish Brush with a replaceable head was really good value at only £4.

I have previously bought some terrible quality dish washing brushes. These with the replaceable heads seem to be much better. The bristles are made from plant based materials as well but they’re usually strong enough to do a great job washing the dishes.

Dustpan & Brush

This Dustpan & Brush is so cute and perfect for cleaning up little messes. I actually wish I’d seen something like this a while ago.

This is a really great alternative to the usual plastic dustpan & brush sets.

ECO SCRIBE Pens

I found out about these pens from someone I follow on Instagram. They look like an amazing alternative to ordinary plastic biros and a great eco friendly product on Etsy.

When @mysustainable20s reviewed them, she commented that she was surprised at how sturdy they are considering they’re just paper.

Reusable Cotton Buds

I was looking for resusable cotton buds last year, however I must not have looked on Etsy because I didn’t find any and ended up buying some bamboo disposables. The disposable ones will probably last me a long time as I don’t use them very often.

I will definitely be buying these when the time comes though as disposable cotton buds are so wasteful. These are brilliant eco friendly products on Etsy.

Eco Habitat Lip Balms

When I last bought lip balms I actually bought them from Nirvana Natural because I stumbled across those. However, it is quite good that you can get vegan, natural lipbalms in paper packaging on Etsy as well.

These by Eco Habitat are really cute and they come in lots of different flavours so check it out if you need some vegan and natural lip balm.

Soy Candles

I know candles aren’t for everyone but I love them to add a bit of fragrance to the home every now and then. Ordinary home air fresheners usually contain cancer causing ingredients and they’re cased in plastic so candles is a great way to avoid this.

I think these Soy Candles just look so fresh and flowery, great as an affordable eco friendly gift or just for the home.

Wildcase Phone Cases

Biodegradable phone cases are definitely getting more popular which is brilliant. Wild Case phone cases as pictured are really cute and fit IPhones. There were others on Etsy if you don’t have an IPhone so do have a look as phone cases are great eco friendly products on Etsy.

Cutlery Set

This cutlery set caught my eye because I’ve ordered a Wheat Straw lunch box from Beyond Topic which is on it’s way to me and it’s the same pastel shade as the above cutlery set.

Wheat straw is great because it’s nice and solid but unlike plastic it’s a natural product so biodegrades much quicker.

Paired together the cutlery set and lunch box would make a great gift or just a good lunch set for the working week.

Bamboo Hair Brush

Bamboo hair brushes are great eco friendly products on Etsy. I bought my bamboo hair brush a few years ago from Ebay I believe. I have no complaints with it, one of the bristles has come out but my hair is quite thick and long so I don’t mind that so much. This would make a great eco friendly gift.

If you do get a bamboo brush, make sure that the bristles are bamboo as well because some have an element of green washing and market it as an eco friendly product but it’s actually got plastic bristles.

Cork Notebook

I am such a sucker for any kind of stationary and especially notebooks. This cork notebook is just so cute. You can personalise the label on the front to say whatever you want but I think I would get it without a label.

I think this would make a lovely eco friendly gift for someone.

Cork Coasters

Cork is an amazing material because it’s sustainable, waterproof and lightweight. I thought these Cork Coasters were really nice and affordable. Quite simple and natural and I think they would suit homes with a more natural aesthetic.

Scrunchies

These scrunchies were made from secondhand denim jeans. I did see lots of other scrunchies on there too, made from various other materials so if you like scrunchies check them out.

Envelopes

As I said there was a lot of different types of businesses on Etsy UK and this shop Friendly Freelance has all sorts of beautiful paper designs.

I bought the PDF for these beautiful envelopes and printed them out at home. As I’m doing the ‘Buy Nothing’ year for 2021 I thought these would come in handy for sending special letters or homemade cards.

Dish Soap

I am really impressed by this Battle Green Box dish soap. It’s probably my favourites that I’ve tried so far. One I tried a few months ago was way too soft and therefore didn’t last very long.

This one is solid so should last a long time and it has a pleasant lemon scent as well. It’s really effective at cleaning greasy pans etc, give it a try!

Vegan Wraps

These Vegan Wraps are really cute and perfect for wrapping sandwiches or covering things in the fridge. I’ve always thought these were a really great idea for wrapping your lunch to keep it fresh for work etc.

My son and I had a sandwich wrap each with velcro when I was going out to work and he was in nursery. The only downside with the velcro wraps is that the velcro loses it’s stick after a while of constant washing. I’m thinking wraps like this would be a great alternative.

Kitchen Sponges

If you usually use disposable sponges in the kitchen, these reusable Kitchen Sponges are a really great alternative.

I really love the patterns, this Etsy shop Bev’s Eco Products has a lot of really interesting handmade goodies like these kitchen sponges and face wipes etc.

Homemade Soap

I don’t know about you but I love soap, we even made some soap for our Christmas crackers this year. I much prefer bars of soap and ones like this beautiful soap are plastic free as well. If you’re in the US check out this shop as they sell shampoo bars and pet paw balm as well.

Marble Square Coasters

I thought these Pietra del Cardosa marble square coasters which are handmade in the USA were really nice. I love a good solid durable coaster with having children that means they have the best chance of surviving. My glass coaster set I’m using at the moment is down to two out of the four I originally bought…

Cork Bow Ties

These cork bow ties are really cute. If I lived in the USA I would so be buying one of these for my son. They’re another great option for sustainable and eco friendly products on Etsy.

Toilet Brush

This bamboo toilet brush looks like a brilliant example of eco friendly products on Etsy. It is made from bamboo and plant fibres so completely zero waste and homemade.
