Natur Cosmetics Product Review – Sustainable Brand

It can be difficult to find brands that share the same values as you. That’s why I’ve put together this Natur Cosmetics product review, to introduce a new brand that you might not have come across yet.

With greenwashing becoming more and more prevalent when we’re shopping, it can be difficult to decide if something is greenwashing or not.

That’s why I really love it when I find a brand who truly has sustainable values and cares about where the ingredients come from and what they are.

About Natur Cosmetics

Natur Cosmetics was created by Kate who as a teenager had an over-sensitivity to a lot of skin and face products and therefore decided to start formulating her own products with no synthetic ingredients.

Over time Kate completed a lot of courses in natural skincare and began to perfect her formulas.

After several years of studying and research she managed to create a full range of skincare products that did not cause her skin to react!

During this time Kate was also angry about the amount of plastic waste from the beauty industry and in true eco warrior style, she decided to launch her own brand!

You might notice that some of the images throughout this post say Gaia’s Little Helpers, the name has recently been changed Natur Cosmetics.

Specifics

All of Natur products are plant-based in ingredient and care is taken to find organic and local where that’s possible.

Kate makes sure that all of her processes are zero waste and circular. No single use plastic is used anywhere in the business and the labels and boxes are made from recycled paper. The labels are even printed with plant-based ink so completely biodegradable/compostable.

Natur Cosmetics also has a container return scheme and they want people to return the containers back to them.

There’s a few different places you can return the containers or you can post them back.

It even states on the website that they would rather you sent them back unwashed since a lot of the products are oil based and Kate has specific cleaning agents to clean them herself.

For many of the containers you can get a £1.50 voucher against your next order which is a great incentive!

There’s also badges on the website for each item, in case you have specific needs eg nut free, gluten free, suitable for infants etc.

I found this particularly useful when looking because I have quite reactive skin and usually choose certain products that are unscented when possible.

Price Comparison

I think it’s very important to show a price comparison for cosmetics. The biggest thing I noticed when looking for sustainable skincare is that the majority of it comes with a very high price tag!

Perhaps that wouldn’t necessarily be a deal breaker for you but when I’m looking for skincare products or makeup, if the order I place is going to come to £100+ I just can’t justify it!

I know that sustainable brands have to consider everything when setting a price. Sourcing ethically and sustainably is always going to reflect in the price, but spending a lot of money on a serum is not going to happen for people on a low income.

I was pleased to see that the prices for Natur products were all reasonable and not what I’d consider as having that higher price tag!

Natur Cosmetics Product Review

Now let’s get to my Natur Cosmetics product review and I’ll give you the specifics of the items I received.

Christmas Soap Chocolate Orange

The first item I’ll tell you about is the Christmas soap. As soon as I opened it I noticed the beautiful scent!

I should state that it’s not overpowering at all just a nice sweet subtle scent. Not like when you walk into Lush and leave with a headache because your senses are overwhelmed!

To use this is lovely as well, it foams a little which is what I would expect from a natural soap and it looks super cute in the bathroom too.

I think this might be a new product as it’s not listed on the website. It is included in a Christmas Gift Pack so I’ll include that link below.

Ingredients:

Sodiium Olivate, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Shea Butterate, Sodium Castorate, Aqua, Glycerin, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Shell Powder, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Limonene*. *naturally occurring constituent of essential oil

Organic Lip Scrub Cherry

I hadn’t used a lip scrub in years before getting this one. My youngest found one I had in the cupboard and carried it off so there’s a big chance she ate it all!

This lip scrub was really nice, it did a good job of getting rid of any dry areas on my lips and the cherry flavour was good too.

Now I just need to hide it from my youngest..

Ingredients:

Sucrose (White Sugar), Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Aroma (Organic Flavour Oil)

Interference Gold Loose Powder

This loose powder is a really pretty colour. It looks more white than gold in the pot and on my finger but when you apply it it’s actually a lot more gold.

It works beautifully as an eyeshadow and a highlighter. It’s very glamorous and such a pretty colour. I loved it as an eye inner corner highlight in particular.

Both of the loose powders I received are made with mineral oxides and mica only so they don’t have any fillers or harmful chemicals.

There was only one ingredient list on the website but I’ll leave it below as an example.

Ingredients: 
Mica (C.I.77019), +/- Titanium Dioxide (C.I.77891), Tin Oxide (C.I.77861), Iron Oxide (C.I. 77491, C.I.77492, C.I.77499), Ultramarine Blue (C.I. 77007), Manganese Violet (C.I.77742), Chromium Oxide Green (C.I.77288). 

Passionata Loose Powder

This shade is beautiful too, I think they’re both almost Christmas colours and they look very pretty together.

It’s hard to capture the shade of this one, to me it looks quite red in the pot but it’s much more of a copper shade.

Copper is one of my favourite colours in makeup and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s highly pigmented and easy to apply.

There were so many other colours of the loose powders available on the website, I’ve even bought some of the matte shades since I prefer a matte eyeshadow for everyday wear.

The loose powders are also multipurpose so they can be used for blush, highlight or eyeshadow.
