This year I have come across so many amazing blogs and YouTube channels so I thought I would compile my list of the best sustainable and vegan blogs and YouTube channels that I have found.

In April 2020 I decided to set up a blog, without giving it much thought at all. The brand name Rainbow Vegans Rock just came to my head, probably due to the country being in lockdown and the children all leaving rainbows in their windows.

I had originally decided to write a book but although I love writing in general – I couldn’t seem to think of an idea that hadn’t already been done. I thought the best way to try out writing in a more public way was to set up a blog and write what I know.

Fast forward to the end of 2020 and I have a blog and a YouTube channel. I’m eternally grateful to everyone who has been supportive of my growing brand and all the lovely people that I have come across along the way.

I know that living sustainably and vegan aren’t mutually exclusive. However, in my below list you will see that some people are vegan bloggers who also focus on sustainability and some are sustainable bloggers who are also vegan.

Ahimsa Plant-Kitchen

If you like healthy vegan recipes from around the world, this channel is for you. Bettina Knap is a vegan chef in Ibiza Spain who makes the most delicious looking vegan street food, you’ll ever see!

Aliquis Planeta

Aliquis Planeta (one planet) is a an Instagram influencer who is a vegan environmentalist and student. She has an online shop in the UK which sells various zero waste things such as tea and soap. I love to support this small business because what she’s doing as an influencer is amazing and she is so lovely as well.

Amy And Freddie

Amy is a vegan influencer who I met on Instagram. She is a vegan mumma to a beautiful little boy called Freddie. She also lives in the UK so shares all sorts of vegan treats from the London/Surrey area, homemade and from the supermarkets.

Bakey Doesn’t Bake

I discovered Bakey Doesn’t Bake on Instagram, she’s a UK vegan blogger, who blogs about vegan food and lifestyle. I’ve always been a silent admirer of her feed on Instagram, however her vegan food blog has lots of easy recipes and recommendations for eating out as a vegan.

Blue Vagabond

Blue Vagabond was created by blogger Lilia Shahar, she’s a PHD student living in Kyoto Japan. She’s a vegan blogger who also talks about travel, eco friendly things and nature. Follow her on Instagram to see the most amazing pictures and delicious vegan recipes.

Courtney’s Homestead

I’ve been following Courtney on Instagram for a while, she posts the most delicious looking vegan recipes and one of these days I’ll get round to trying one. She’s a vegan blogger who also covers DIY and travel.

Cris Laz Photos

Another great vegan influencer that I’ve met on Instagram is Cris. She’s passionate about veganism, feminism, LGBTQ, minimalism and the environment. Give her a follow for inspirational content.

Cruelty Free Kitty

This blog is very well established and well known in the vegan community. It was created in 2014 by Suzana Rose to help others to know which beauty brands are vegan, cruelty free and eco friendly. If I google anything related to vegan brands I know that CFK is a good, thorough and reliable source of information.

Cruelty Free Lucy

I discovered Cruelty Free Lucy on Instagram, she has a beauty and lifestyle blog in the USA and recommends vegan beauty products and food.

Earthful Enlightenment

I discovered this lovely lady on Pinterest as we had both started our blogs in 2020 and were finding our feet. Sue Fernandes is a sustainable blogger who lives in Pennyslvania USA, her blog is focused on zero waste living and includes lots of tips for a capsule wardrobe and DIY recipes. She has recently started making soap as well to sell in her Etsy shop (Affiliate) and it looks amazing.

Eco Boost

Kate Arnell created Eco Boost, she’s a sustainable blogger, TV presenter and YouTuber. She lives in London UK and has a shop and a book called ‘6 weeks to Zero Waste’. I particularly like her post on zero waste makeup, some great tips and I appreciate her honesty that the lipstick she likes isn’t strictly plastic free.

Eco Misfits

Eco Misfits are a sustainable UK family who after the birth of their child started to get passionate about climate change and living a more sustainable lifestyle in general. Their blog has a journal section and an eco advice section. I love the name and hope they continue to grow as they are fairly new.

Emma Reed

I came across Emma Reed in a Facebook group. She’s a sustainable blogger who also discusses parenting and motherhood. She lives in Hampshire UK and has also written a book called ‘Your Teething baby – from one parent to another’ I love all of her cloth nappy tips and a post she’s written about sustainable and ethical jewellery.

Catherine Ruddick

I discovered this sustainable UK YouTuber this year, I have the feeling that she’s going to grow a lot on YouTube over the next few years. She shares zero waste and minimalism tips. I love her voice and she just seems chilled and really likeable.

Ethical Elephant

Ethical Elephant is another well established cruelty free blog, this was created by a lady living in Vancouver, Canada in 2015. Since then she’s seen a lot of cruelty brands come onto the beauty scene. This one as well as Cruelty Free Kitty are my go-to websites to confirm if anything is vegan and cruelty free.

Going Zero Waste

I discovered Kathryn Kellogg from her YouTube channel but she does also have a blog. She lives in the USA and after a health scare she decided to ditch plastic and become more mindful of toxins that she was putting in and on her body. She has great energy and I really enjoy her videos.

Gittemary Johansen

I discovered this bubbly zero waste YouTuber very recently. I love her energy, every video I’ve seen she’s informative and non judgemental which is perfect. She lives in Denmark and her channel is well worth a watch if you prefer YouTube to blogs.

Grateful Green Life

I discovered this vegan blogger Chrissie when I was quite early on my blogging journey and we realised we live in the same County in the UK which is really cool.

Chrissie is a passionate gardener and blogs about gardening, vegan food, sustainability and a natural lifestyle in general.

Gypsy Soul

I love the story of this sustainable blogger, Georgina Caro has been on a journey to simplify and minimise her families lives since 2013. Since then they’ve decluttered, downsized and they live in Cornwall UK. I love that on their blog you can select the blog posts more fitting to you based on where you are in your eco journey.

Jess Rigg

Jess Rigg is a sustainable blogger in the UK who also has a podcast The Ethical Conversations. I’m not a big podcast person as I’ve already got an ever growing YouTube watch list but I hope to check that out in the future. She’s got some great content on her blog such as 10 ways to be sustainable for free. Follow her on Instagram for more from Jess.

Jess With Less

I discovered Jess on Pinterest, she started her blog in 2018 and she has a YouTube channel. Jess is a sustainable blogger from the USA with a focus on sustainable fashion and low waste. She is in the process of setting up a vintage furniture store on Etsy which is really cool.

Life Insatiable

I’ve been following AJ on Instagram right from the start of my Instagram journey and she shares the most amazing plant based Indian food. She’s a vegan food blogger, she’s a mother, a wife and she has a catering business in Surrey UK which she set up this year. I’ve no idea how she does it all.

Little Green Blog

This blog was created by a UK family who focus on sustainable living, gardening and self sufficiency. They have a lot of great content and are what I would consider quite advanced in sustainable living. Do check out their website if this style of contact intrigues you.

London Veganist

This lovely lady is another UK blogger that I follow on Instagram. Her blog was founded in 2019 and it has a plethora of healthy vegan food recipes. There’s also some sustainable living tips, as she urges others to be more aware of their carbon footprint.

Minimalist Vegan

Another well established website created by Michael and Masa, which has a lot of delicious looking recipes, minimalist lifestyle and sustainable lifestyle content. This website is very helpful and worth checking out.

Mel’s Vegan Diaries

I discovered Mel on Instagram and followed to her YouTube channel from there. She lives in the UK and does a lot of vegan food recipes and vegan taste tests for food available in the supermarkets. She is really sweet and has a soft voice.

Moral Fibres

Another sustainable blogger worth checking out is this one, created by Wendy. She’s also created a book called Fresh Clean Home. Lots of great tips on her website including food waste tips, lifestyle, family and travel.

No Blood No Tears

I started following Kirstin Forsythe on Instagram earlier on in the year. She’s a vegan activist who also cares about sustainability. She’s just set up a blog where she intends on sharing activism, vegan food and low waste. Keep an eye on her website because I’m sure she’ll have lots of great tips in the future. Kirstin and I are both doing the ‘Buy Nothing’ year for 2021 so will be sharing all about this as well and supporting each other.

Eco Friendly Henri

I discovered Henri on Instagram as well, she’s very active on Instagram and empowers lots of people to live more sustainably. She also is a sustainable blogger and an eco mum. Her blog has lots of lifestyle tips, family and renewable energy.

Henri interviews lots of other sustainable content creators and is so supportive of us all. I am looking forward to my interview in January with Henri.

My Journey To Sustainability

This brand was created by Kalyn Callan who is a sustainable blogger who lives in London UK. She’s an actress who started looking into sustainability a few years ago. She does have a YouTube channel but seems to be more active on Instagram. She has some really great tips for living sustainably and she’s completely transparent about what she hasn’t been able to switch to – which I really appreciate.

Ozavie

I found these on Instagram and currently they have built a website for discovering vegan fashion all in one place, if you sign up you receive a free guide to get you stated. Although this is not strictly a blog, I thought this was an excellent idea and deserved a mention.

Plastic Free New Life

This Instagram account was created by Muna, she is an influencer who inspires others to go zero waste with tips and DIY recipes. Definitely worth a follow on Instagram, she’s brilliant at looking into parts of zero waste that people have been unable to do and suggesting other ways of doing things.

Precious Vegan

I started following Jada Kush on Instagram when I started my brand earlier on in the year. Jada is a vegan blogger, a Forensic Psychiatric Nurse and she’s a mother. I do wonder how she has time for it all! She blogs about all things vegan, motherhood and mental health.

Ruth Sustainable Me

Ruth organises @ecofriendsmeetup on Instagram every week. She started this during Covid 2020 to help other small businesses find likeminded people and followers who care about sustainability and the environment. I didn’t even realise she had a blog until recently, however she discusses sustainable materials and eco product reviews.

Sedona Christina

Christie is quite a well known YouTuber in the sustainable community, along with Shelbie and Immy. She is Canadian and lives in Seattle. I’ve only recently discovered her channel so haven’t binge watched all of her videos yet but she has great energy and shares plenty of zero waste tips.

Shelbizleee

Shelbi is a passionate sustainable YouTuber who also has a blog and is good friends with Immy Lucas from Sustainably Vegan. She lives an eco-minimalist lifestyle in Texas USA. She is another YouTuber that I love all her videos and even subscribed to her weekly secret videos.

Sustainability With Shan

Shannon is a fairly new sustainable influencer on Instagram. I like that they’re doing something a bit different and highlighting 1-2 articles about anything sustainable every Tuesday (called News update). I love this because it’s more detailed information and more about what can be done on a bigger scale than just what we as consumers can do. Give them a follow to keep in the loop.

Sustainably Chic

Sustainably Chic is an established blog created by Natalie who lives in Florida USA. Natalie focuses on sustainable fashion with a bit of green beauty and eco lifestyle. She’s got lots of great recommendations, if you’re in the US check out the blog.

Sustainably Vegan

I discovered Immy Lucas on YouTube. She’s a video creator, who’s sustainable and vegan and she does also have a website as well as her YouTube channel. She lives in London UK and created the Low Impact Movement as she wasn’t happy with the term zero waste and how restrictive that can be. I love her YouTube channel, she does a lot of ‘100 zero waste swaps’ type of videos and I love her relaxing voice.

Tea In The Tub

Helen is a Vegan and cruelty free blogger in the UK. Helen blogs about cruelty free lifestyle, beauty and travel. She has an Ultimate Cruelty Free blog list as well, which I did have a look to see if I’d missed any for my list (although my list is slightly different).

I recently entered a bloggers mug swap that Helen arranged which was really cool.

Thats What Pea Said

Pixee Pea was another blogger that I found on Instagram in the early days and I’m grateful I did because she is lovely. She is a vegan blogger who writes about cruelty free and vegan lifestyle tips and beauty. She’s very active on Instagram and is passionate about music, low waste and mental health as well as veganism.

The Curvaceous Vegan

I’ve been following Amie on Instagram for a few months now and I didn’t even realise she had a blog until recently. Amie’s photos are all stunning! Her blog is vegan beauty and lifestyle and she’s an award winning blogger.

The Dream Darling

I came across this wellness blogger recently. Jenny shares plant based recipes, mental health and lifestyle. Jenny is from London UK and we’re currently working on Guest posts for each other. You can follow her on Instagram.

The Lady Prefers 2 Save

Another Instagram account I’ve been following for a while is Misty Nicole’s. Nicole is a minimalist and sustainable blogger. She also has a podcast and a YouTube channel. Her blog has so much interesting content as well, finance, vegan food and green living.

Thoroughly Modern Grandma

I’ve already recommended this sustainable blog and shop in my sustainable online shops for Christmas post. Thoroughly Modern Grandma shares lots of great DIY tips on Instagram and all things sustainability.

Those Vegan Guys

One of my favourite Vegan channels to watch is this channel created by Paul and Jason who live in the UK. Their content is following their allotment journey, supermarket vlogs and recipes. They seem very genuine people and really care about their community on YouTube.

Uncle Lou’s Kitchen

This vegan YouTube channel shows lots of delicious vegan food from around the world. This channel has grown so much over the last year and it’s a pleasure to see. He’s lived in England, France, Israel and Ireland, however he currently lives in London. Due to travelling and his ethnicity he has knowledge of lots of amazing vegan food from around the world and shares them all on his channel.

Vegan Babe Life

Yet another Instagram account I follow is Siobhan Linos Gale. The creator of the multi award winning blog. She is a vegan blogger who also blogs about sober life and mental health. Siobhan is from North Wales originally but lives in Brighton UK. I’m jealous of how well they cater for vegans in Brighton with all the delicious vegan food, check out her beautiful website above.

Vegan Beauty Girl

I love this vegan YouTuber who lives in London UK, who also has a blog. Nicole focuses on vegan and cruelty free beauty, however she does also care about sustainability as well which makes her one of my all time favourite YouTubers. She is very well spoken and confident, I love watching her videos.

Vegan Pixie Warrior

I stumbled across this channel on YouTube a while back and I love it. Vegan Pixie Warrior is a vegan activist. She has decided to take the liberation pledge which means that she has decided not to sit down and eat with people if they’re eating animals.

I completely understand why vegans would want to do this as it can be very upsetting to watch people eat animal products in front of you. Until I discovered her channel I hadn’t even heard of the liberation pledge so I’m learning new things every day.

She also helped me out with some images for my non-confrontational vegan activism post which I’m really grateful for.

Vegan Vitality

Known for their vegan vitamins, this website also had a lot of information for new vegans, which could be really helpful if you’re unsure what you should be taking supplements wise and why.

Yuzu Bakes

I follow this vegan brand on Instagram, it was created by a married couple Cory and G and they share the most amazing budget friendly recipes. On their blog they also have their vegan food recipes separated into different countries which I love. There’s lots of delicious looking healthy recipes that I’d love to try when I get the chance.

Zero Waste Family

Zero Waste Family are a lovely family of five living in San Diego. They are so inspirational as they grow majority of their own food in their garden and they home school their children. Fredrika Syren has written a book entitled A Practical Guide Zero Waste For Families. They have a YouTube channel where they share all things zero waste, slow living and vegan recipes.

The blogging/influencer community is actually huge so I will continue to add to this list when I discover sustainable and vegan bloggers, influencers or YouTubers -which I think should be mentioned.
