Beauty Kubes Review – Best Plastic Free Shampoo & Conditioner
I actually originally tried this plastic free shampoo and conditioner months ago and reviewed it on my YouTube channel, I wanted to put my Beauty Kubes review into writing on my blog as well.
This is honestly one of the best plastic free shampoo & conditioners that I’ve tried. I have a really sensitive scalp and I’ve been using the sensitive versions of Beauty Kubes with virtually no irritation.

About Beauty Kubes
Before we get to the Beauty Kubes review I wanted to give you some background on this brand.
Beauty Kubes was founded in 2017, their parent company is Eve of St Agnes. They created this completely zero waste brand as they became more aware of the plastic problem in the UK. I mention them in my sustainable beauty brand list.
They state that in the UK 16 million plastic bottles each day end up in landfill so not even recycled!
They were inspired by BBC’s Blue Planet and the Cornish charity Surfers Against Sewage.
Their plastic free products are made in Cornwall in the UK and their facility is powered by green energy from wind and solar, which is so cool.
The Beauty Kubes range is 100% vegan, 65% organic ingredients, palm oil free, sulfate and silicone free as well.
In the range they have plastic free shampoo, plastic free conditioner, plastic free body wash, plastic free facial mask and plastic free bath kubes.
Specifics
So for the purposes of this Beauty Kubes review I will provide the details of the plastic free shampoo and conditioners that I’ve tried. However, they do also have shampoo and conditioners for normal – dry hair and oily hair.
All of their products are packed into tiny cardboard boxes with a compostable film wrapper to keep the crumbs in.

Using
So what I’ve bought since I first did my Beauty Kubes review with the sample pack – is the Plastic free shampoo sensitive, the plastic free conditioner sensitive and the plastic free conditioner mask.
As I have quite long hair, I only use one cube of the plastic free shampoo on my scalp and then I use one cube of the plastic free conditioner on my scalp and finally one cube of the conditioner mask purely on the ends of my hair.
I will admit that it takes a little bit of time to get used to having to crush the cube and mix into a paste, as pictured below.

It reminds me a bit of a stock cube in the design…
Summary
To summarise my Beauty Kubes review, I really love this plastic free shampoo and plastic free conditioner. I think it’s really innovative to make something that you mix with water to use.
After using the shampoo my hair does feel squeaky clean which is great and once dry my hair is shiny and healthy looking. I think if you had thicker, coarser hair than me the conditioner might not be quite detangling enough for you. However, for my hair it works perfect and I’ve even noticed that I haven’t had much breakage from brushing since I’ve been using them.
You can buy the sample pack which is a pack of 3 to try them out or if you were going away and just wanted something super light to take with you.
Personally I think that this is something between the ‘No Poo’ hair method and shampoo and conditioner bars.
I reviewed the Lush Avocado Co-wash bar in 2020 and I think this was also another great alternative to ordinary shampoos and conditioners. It’s not so good for sensitive scalps like mine but a great plastic free shampoo all the same.
I’ve also recently written a zero waste solid conditioner bar review if you’re interested in another great product.
I hope this Beauty Kubes review has been useful, I do really like this plastic free shampoo and plastic free conditioner and will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.
