Make-Up Revolution X Tammi Clarke – Honest Review

In case you don’t know who Tammi Clarke is, this is her Youtube Channel and I believe this is her third collaboration with Make-up Revolution featuring the palette I’m about to review.

In this collaboration with Make-up Revolution she does also feature two contour palettes for darker skin, plus two lip kits which include her favourite lip liners and sheer lip colours from Revolution.

Due to being a pale Caucasian women these wouldn’t be suitable for my skin tone, therefore I only bought the palette.

However I have no issue with that as I know black people really struggle to find makeup that shows up on their skin. Tammi and Make-up Revolution collaborating to make this is amazing for encouraging diversity in the makeup industry!

Who is Tammi Clarke?

Tammi Clarke is a British Youtube influencer who started her channel in 2014. She is known on Youtube for her makeup reviews including bright and colourful makeup and hair care.

As I’m writing this she is 26 years old (born in 1994) and she has twins which were born when she was 18 years old.

When I discovered her YouTube channel I had to subscribe because I just loved her personality and I always watch her videos even if she uses products that aren’t necessarily cruelty free or vegan. (Makeup reviews and tutorials are my guilty pleasure and they’ve definitely taught me a lot about makeup theory)

Details:

The palette is cardboard packaging which is definitely my preferred material for a palette. Despite this it is still very sturdy and it arrived perfectly from Revolution Beauty wrapped in brown paper in a paper box which made me extremely happy because I am trying to reduce my plastic. at the moment.

It was only £20 as well so I think this is very reasonable for a palette this size. You can find it on Revolution Beauty, Superdrug or Beauty Bay.

This palette is of course vegan and cruelty free beauty as were here Tropical Carnival Palette and her first palette Tropical Paradise.

It has 28 shades including mattes, shimmers and pressed glitters. The first row is all neutral browns which should suit any skin colour. The next row is mostly cream shimmers apart from one unusual duo chrome orange and green glitter. They all stick nicely to the eyelid without using any sort of primer.

There is a colourful matte row and then a final shimmer row at the bottom with a silver and pink glitter.

The packaging is beautiful and the shades are really pretty. It’s not a rainbow palette but it contains purples, greens, teals and blues to really suit the Tropical Twilight theme.

Neutral Gold

I did this look several times because I do gravitate towards browns in palette on a daily basis and I really liked the formula of the cream shimmers as a sparkly topper.

I used beige (dawn) all over the lid as a base, then a light brown (sand) in the crease and finally a medium brown (tanned) to darken the outer corners. I topped it all with the gold shimmer (glow) to make it sparkly.

Sunset

A bright sunset eye-shadow look is actually one of my favourites to do because it doesn’t require much blending. I don’t get a lot of time in the mornings to do my makeup, so it works to my benefit that a sunset look can’t be blended too much as it’ll start to look muddy.

I put the bright purple (true love) all over the lid and blended the edges out with orange (sunrise) and then I blended the orange out with yellow (dusk). Finally I added gold (glow) to the inner corner. I probably needed to blend this a bit more but it was fine from a distance! ?

I basically repeated the above instructions for the under eye to tie it all together.

I love how summery and colourful a sunset eye-shadow look is.

Blue

Next I really wanted to play around the blues and teals in this palette because I don’t use these very often and I wanted to try them out. It wasn’t my favourite look because I don’t find blue very flattering on my eyes and skin tone but it was still fun to do.

Final Thoughts

I really loved this palette! The same as the previous Patricia Bright palette X Makeup Revolution palette I reviewed the brighter colours do stain, however I believe this is probably a side effect of using vegan pigments in eye-shadow.

I saw a review on YouTube where they didn’t like the cream texture of the shimmers in this palette but I have to disagree because I really liked this formula. Very easy to use as a topper and they cover the layered eyes-shadow underneath with a really pretty shimmer.

If you want to buy this to add to your collection I don’t think you’ll be wasting your money as it is a really lovely palette with lots of neutral and colourful eye-shadow looks that you can create.

It’s also good to support a black content creator who in my opinion has not got the recognition she deserves yet.
