Earth Breeze Product Review – Zero Waste Laundry Sheets

Are you looking for zero waste laundry sheets? In this Earth Breeze product review I’ll tell you a bit about Earth Breeze and my experiences trying these laundry sheets for the first time.

I’ve wanted to try laundry sheets for a while but I’ve been quite sensitive to fragrances so I wasn’t sure whether to take the risk. Earth Breeze offered to send me their fragrance free and scented laundry sheets to try so that seemed a great opportunity for me to use the fragrance free version and tell you my thoughts.

I’ve talked with a friend about this and we think using more natural cleaning products in your home enhances your sense of smell… perhaps you’ve experienced the same?

About Earth Breeze

Earth Breeze is a US company but they’ve opened a UK warehouse to bring the brand to the UK as well.

The ingredients are ethically sourced in Asia and then manufactured in the USA. They are phosphate, paraben, chlorine dye and bleach free. The ingredients are also vegan and cruelty free which is great.

The packaging is zero waste packaging so it’s biodegradable and recyclable. You can even compost it if you have your own compost bin.

It’s quite shocking when you think about it but most laundry detergents are 90% water, you’re paying for liquid to be shipped around your Country and then you also have to buy them in plastic packaging as well.

The package I received contains 60 loads approximately and it works out about 23pence per load so very affordable and because it’s dehydrated sheets it’s much easier to take on holiday and store away.

Because the packaging is very lightweight it also means transportation of the sheets has a reduced carbon footprint as well. Plus Earth Breeze offset the carbon from deliveries too.

They’re a brand putting planet and people before profit which I always love to see!

They are carbon neutral because they offset the carbon emissions for the entire company including shipping.

They also plant a tree for every 100 followers on social media and they belong to the 1% For The Planet group which means they donate 1% of their profits to environmental charities and causes.

After the Oregan fire crisis they donated 100,000 sheets to help out. For every pack bought they also donate 10 packs of sheets to those in need.

What I Like About Them

I wanted to include in this Earth Breeze product review some of the main reasons that I like this brand and support their efforts.

I wanted to see how Earth Breeze compared to other laundry sheets that I’ve seen available. There are others available in the UK but as I don’t have much information about these I didn’t want to include them just yet.

As you can see from the table, Earth Breeze are the second cheapest, however if you subscribe they are the cheapest overall.

Earth Breeze Product Review

Now let’s get to my Earth Breeze product review.

As mentioned above, I was gifted the Fragrance Free and Scented sheets. However I have only used the Fragrance Free and I gifted the Fresh Scent to somebody else for their opinion.

The sheets are simple to use, if you have a top filling washing machine you just put your sheet in with the laundry at the top and if you have a side open machine like mine, you put the sheet in the tray.

The sheets will dissolve even on a cold cycle which is great because I only wash my clothes on 30 degrees.

How many sheets?

• Full load = 1 sheet
• Half load = Half sheet
• Heavily soiled = 2 sheets

Because they’re sheets you only use exactly what you need for each load. It takes a bit of getting used to if you normally use quite a bit of the liquid or powered versions from the supermarket.

It’s much less waste this way, remember they are dehydrated so highly concentrated. I only used 2 sheets when I had washing which was really dirty.

Fragrance Free

I was impressed with how well these sheets worked. I used one sheet most of the times that I’ve used them as my youngest gets a lot of food stains on her clothes and they work great!

Over the past few years I’ve used a combination of soapnuts and an eco egg to wash clothes and I do still think this is a good way to do your laundry.

That-being-said when you have children, they do tend to make quite a bit of a mess when they’re eating or rolling around the garden so the eco egg and soapnuts aren’t always good enough to get out stains.

I would definitely recommend these sheets as an alternative, if you are sensitive to fragrances you can try out the fragrance free version that I used, because they do work amazingly well.

Fresh Scent

The feedback that I’ve got about the scented laundry sheets is that they work much better than other laundry sheets.

It seems to get out the smells from going to the gym which is great!

The scent is nice but not overpowering so this tends to fade once the clothes are dry.

This might be personal opinion because I actually think that the scent does stay on the clothes but it’s not as strong as the shop bought laundry detergents.

I hope this Earth Breeze product review has helped you determine if you should give them a try for your laundry. I genuinely think that laundry sheets are a good sustainable swap for most people and awesome that they are compact and you can even taking them when you’re travelling.
